Catch a Falling Star (Published in the National Geographic story "After Midnight")

The skeletons of ancient bristlecone giants reach for the heavens as a fiery meteor skims across the black Colorado sky. The meteor was entirely fortuitous as there were no major meteor showers occurring at the time of capture.

 

Recognized by Defenders of Wildlife as one of America's top wildlands photographs
